![]() ![]() Sooo there is a mystery behind this grocery store. So you enter the "grocery store" which the weird items like P-2000 cracker spackle = real Peanut Butter! After your done investigating you can really buy the products in the grocery store. The main admission is for Omega Mart it is pretty pricey but well worth it for over 3 hours of a crazy experience. The best way to describe this place is INTERACTIVE ART! Meow Wolf is in a building called Area 15 when you enter this building it's like a large mall with numerous restaurants and game rooms. It was worth doing once, glad that I did not take my three adult children as I think they would have been bored within the first 30 minutes. I suspect that this event will trend better with the very young, or a younger crowd that is somewhat influenced artificially to enjoy the trippy nature of the experience. There were a lot of cool images, rooms, sites to behold. The event holds up to 1083 people (sign observed) and the site is clearly allowing as many people as possible to go through. This is not their fault, nor is it unexpected. I did not navigate to each of the portals or participate in the mystery as the areas and equipment were filled with younger people that tied up each screen and prevented access. The pictures online do the event justice and are accurate, except they are taking without the mass and wall of people everywhere. For the main experience or the paid event, you enter a grocery store with unique items that are available for purchase and can participate in a mystery that includes becoming an employee electrotonically that sends you to different locations through the building. Glad they were doing grand business, but long lines and wait times deterred from the experience. Upon entry to the dimly lit building, I was presented with wall to wall people shuffling from event to event that ranged from 15 to 30 dollars (art exhibit, VR, arcade). I read the reviews, looked at the photos and thought wow, what a place! Booked the exhibit and arrived early for parking at area 15 as directed in some of the reviews I read (to ensure a good parking spot). "Upon further inspection," Brinkerhoff said, "you find something very odd is going on."Īs you continue to explore, you find portals into a parallel dimension.During our recent trip to Vegas the paid for ad for Meow Wolf was displayed over and over on Facebook. ![]() When Rifkin and other CPTV executives learned this, they wrote letters to their fellow PBS member stations urging them to get PBS to reconsider. Īlthough the show was a runaway hit, PBS initially opted not to provide funding beyond the initial 30-episode run. The series was produced by CPTV and Lyrick Studios (later bought by HIT Entertainment). ![]() The show debuted as Barney & Friends in 1992. Franklin and Rifkin convinced Leach to let CPTV revamp the concept for television. Franklin and Rifkin pitched the idea to all of their colleagues with preschoolers, and they all agreed that kids would love a Barney show. He pitched it to CPTV president Jerry Franklin, whose preschool son also fell in love with it. Rifkin thought Barney had appeal because he was not as neurotic as Big Bird. Rifkin thought the concept could be developed for PBS. One day in 1991, the daughter of Connecticut Public Television executive Larry Rifkin rented one of the videos and was "mesmerized" by it. The first three videos starred actress Sandy Duncan. Leach then brought together a team who created a series of home videos, Barney & the Backyard Gang, initially released in 1988. ![]() She came up with the idea of a children's program after noticing that her son outgrew Wee Sing Together, and then recognizing that there were no videos to appeal to her son. Barney has also received lots of praise from parents for being a wholesome yet engaging show for children that delves into common, kid-friendly topics.īarney was created by Sheryl Leach of Dallas, Texas. The anti-Barney phenomenon is the basis of the 2022 Peacock documentary I Love You, You Hate Me. While popular with its intended audience, Barney drew severe negative reaction from the older set, who mocked the main character in popular culture through song parodies and comedy routines such as being beaten up by NBA star Charles Barkley on an episode of Saturday Night Live. On October 18, 2019, Mattel Films announced that a second Barney film was to be produced British actor Daniel Kaluuya's production company was involved. In 2015, a revival was announced to premiere in 2017 but was delayed into an undated launch until being re-announced as a CGI-animated series in February 2023. Reruns aired on Sprout from 2005 to 2015, and from December 17, 2018, onward on Sprout's successor network, Universal Kids. The series ended on November 2, 2010, although new videos were still released on various dates after the last episode aired. The series first aired on PBS on Apand features Barney a purple anthropomorphic dinosaur who conveys educational messages through songs and small dance routines with a friendly, huggable and optimistic attitude. Barney & Friends is an American children's television series targeted at children aged 2–7, created by Sheryl Leach. ![]() The storyline showcases the vile attempts of Victor towards setting up a criminal kingdom, parallel to Lance, the latter’s brother while conflicting with enemy gangs, drug dealers, and allied rivals. The X-T5 offers the 20-shot pixel-shift high-res mode from the X-H2, allowing you to create 160MP composite images. A much smaller buffer and the use of SD cards means it can't shoot such long bursts as the X-H2, but the image quality it delivers is identical. On the photography side, the specs are very similar to the X-H2, with the camera able to shoot 40MP images at up to 15fps using the mechanical shutter. Fujifilm says the camera can shoot 6.2K/30 video for 90 minutes or 4K/60p for 60 minutes at 25☌ (77☏) these numbers drop significantly at higher temperatures, and there's no option to add a fan to compensate. Instead the X-T5 writes everything to a matched pair of UHS-II SD card slots. The X-H2's ProRes modes are also absent, along with any of the X-H2's options that required the use of a CFexpress Type B card. The X-T5 uses twin UHS-II SD card slots, which explains some of the reduction in video spec and significantly shorter duration of burst shooting. Like the X-H2, the X-T5 can capture 4K at up to 60p from the full width of its sensor, but not using all the available pixels. Similarly, the X-T5's 'HQ' 4K footage is derived from this 6.2K crop, not an 8K readout. So there's no 8K capture and its 6.2K footage is taken from a 1.22x cropped region of the sensor, not the full width as in the X-H2. The X-T5 can also shoot video, but its specifications aren't as ambitious as those of the expressly hybrid X-H2. The X-T5 is a more photography-focused camera than the X-T4, featuring the return of the excellent two-way tilting rear screen mechanism that works well for composing off-axis shots in both the landscape and portrait orientations. Others feature full-frame sensors for maximum resolution. Some models are very compact with crop-size sensors for easy portability and a lower price tag. There are plenty of excellent options when it comes to choosing the ideal mirrorless camera for your needs. Cutting-Edge Mirrorless Cameras and Accessories Attach a lens, insert a memory card, turn the camera on, and start shooting! Your camera’s manual will help explain any available special features and settings so you can get the best results. Using a mirrorless camera is the same as using any other interchangeable-lens camera. Pay attention to weight and dimension specifications as you shop. Some models are designed with a body closer to a DSLR in size as a way to provide a more comfortable grip. When exploring cameras, don’t just assume that all mirrorless cameras are small. Mirrorless cameras don’t need to accommodate the physical swing of an internal mirror, so they’re often more physically streamlined. DSLRs are typically larger and heavier than mirrorless models, especially full-frame DSLRs. Many photographers mention differences in the size and weight of mirrorless cameras as one of the main reasons they made the switch. Size and Weight Differences Between Mirrorless and DSLR Many photographers prefer this style of preview because the camera adapts the previewed image to show how the aperture settings will affect the depth of field.ĭSLRs show you the composition before the image is taken, so they don’t deliver a complete idea of how your settings will affect the resulting image. Instead, mirrorless cameras display a digital preview of their composition using an electronic viewfinder or the live viewscreen on the back of the camera. The one significant difference is that while DSLRs feature internal mirrors for showing the view through the lens to the photographer, mirrorless cameras don’t. Mirrorless Camera vs DSLR: What’s the Difference?ĭSLR and mirrorless cameras have many similarities in terms of processing, sensor styles, and the interchangeability of lenses. Many top brands are getting in on the mirrorless movement, so you can easily find a professional-quality mirrorless digital camera to suit your photographic or video needs. With recent innovations in camera body systems, one thing has become clear: mirrorless digital cameras are a significant contender in the future of still photography. ![]() Capture Video from Almost Any Video Source. Tacos al pastor are known around the World, and may be found recreated in close proximity to the original recipe, meat propped in the shape of a top and all, and cooked with the traditional rotating vertical grill an example is “El Trompo”,apparently the first taco shop in Toronto, named after their specialty, tacos al pastor: Tacos al pastor at “ El Trompo”, Kensington Market, Toronto (photo from one of my daughters) It was tasty, but as I mentioned in my previous post, I started really wanting to make a taco as close to the original as possible, after seeing again the real deal at a taco restaurant in Mexico City, shown below (notice the pineapple at the top) : I called my creation “Don Ari taco” ( click here for recipe): What started as a humble taco joint, has become a prosperous business with many branches, with its original building remodelled into a trendy taco al pastor hub:Ī while ago, I posted about my attempt to create a fusion of the Canadian donair and the Mexican taco al pastor, by preparing a meatloaf “East Coast” style, but with pork ground meat and modified seasonings, serving it on a corn tortilla with cilantro, onions, pineapple and hot salsa. She used layers of pork loin, marinated in her secret recipe, piled as an inverted cone (the top, or trompo), and added two onions at the bottom and a whole peeled pineapple at the top of the rotating meat. Condesa, Mexico City), founded in 1966 by Concepción Cervantes, aka Doña Conchita, has the claim of being the cradle of the taco al pastor on their website’s home page, they explain that Doña Conchita created this Mexican delicacy inspired by the Middle Eastern shawarma and a toy top (“trompo” in Spanish). Finally, in Mexico City, by the mid 1960s, slivers of grilled pineapple could be seen flying right into these corn tortilla tacos, severed and masterfully propelled from the top of the spinning grill by the knife of a taquero (taco master), to become what it is now known as “tacos al pastor” (shepherd’s style tacos). Later on, in the 1960s, the seasoning for the meat also changed to include pimentón (sweet paprika) and Mexican peppers, and the tacos were also stuffed with cilantro and onions. A version with layers of pork and onions had much better luck, especially with the choice of pita bread or corn tortillas, and served with salsa. This taco evolved from the original lamb recipe on pita because the choice of meat did not agree with the local – pedantic at times – taste preferences. First, in the 1930s, in Puebla, with the “taco árabe”, (“Arabian taco”), created by immigrants from the Middle East. In Mexico, there were two generations of wraps. The Greek style gyro became popular in New York City in the early 1970s Canada went a step forward when around 1973, also based on the Greek gyro, the “East Coast Donair”, was invented, adapting to the local taste by using beef instead of lamb, and by the creation of its one-of-a-kind sweet and garlicky creamy sauce, becoming the official food of Halifax, Nova Scotia. ![]() Later on, Turkish immigrants brought the doner to Europe Germany was the first to enjoy Döner Kebab in wrap form, in the mid 1960s. This doner kebap became popular at the beginning of the 20th Century, when small restaurants offering the rotating grilled meat started joining the ranks of food services in Constantinople (now Istanbul) from there, every region controlled by the Ottoman Empire developed its own version: the original meat was lamb, also traditional for gyros in Greece it was called kas, in Iraq and shawarma in Lebanon and Syria, amongst others, where it could be made either pressed or as a pile of thin cutlets from any meat, except pork. The general description of that dish is of an inverted cone of pressed and seasoned lamb, grilled vertically, from which cooked thin layers are “shaved” off the surface, as they brown. The history of the iconic Mexico City taco al pastor begins with the introduction of a vertical grill, which may be traced back to the doner kebap, created in Turkey in the 19th Century (then the lavish Ottoman Empire). Tacos al pastor translates as “shepherd’s style tacos”, probably from the countryside technique of cooking large pieces of meat (sometimes whole animals) on a spear, rotating over a heat source. ![]() Click here to go to printable recipe: Homemade Shepherd’s Style Tacos – Tacos al pastor caseros ![]() Indeed, the drawback of lithium batteries is high cost, which is why alkaline batteries are still very popular.
